Comma rule: dependent clause FIRST → comma after it. Dependent clause LAST → usually no comma. Read the sentences aloud to hear the pause.

Dependent Clause: A clause that cannot stand alone as a sentence.
Common Mistakes
  • Always placing a comma regardless of clause order
  • Forgetting to use the conjunction word at all
