Adult guideTips, a sample plan and a quick review checklist
One mission, three student sheets. Choose and calculate, draw a spending pie chart, then respond to a ride-price increase. All prices are simplified classroom examples, not real ticket quotes.
Page 1: ticket totals for 20 students are Nature center $100, Science museum $200, Space dome $300. Sandwiches for 20 cost $100. One valid plan is museum $200 + bus $100 + packed lunch $0 + guide $50 = $350, leaving $150.
Page 2: the entire circle represents total spending, which is $350 in that example. Tickets ($200) get a bit more than half the circle; the ride ($100) gets a bit less than a third; the guide ($50) gets the smallest slice; lunch ($0) gets no slice. Unspent money is not shown. Approximate proportions are fine; no angles or percentages are required.
Page 3: the sample plan had a $100 school-bus ride and a $350 trip total. The ride becomes $200 and the trip total becomes $450, leaving $50. That plan still fits, so keeping it is reasonable. A student whose original plan cost $450 now has a $550 trip and a $50 shortfall. They could change a choice and show a new total of $500 or less, or request exactly $50 from the school. Both are valid if explained.
