How can AI use pictures and sound?
Computers receive pictures as grids of colored pixels and sound as measurements collected over time. AI looks for patterns in those numbers, then makes a prediction that people can test.
1. Collect an input
A camera records pixels, a microphone records sound measurements, and a sensor records information such as light or motion.
2. Find useful patterns
The model looks for shapes, colors, rhythms, pitches, or changes that appeared in its examples.
3. Make a prediction
It may predict what is in a photo, which sound it heard, or what a sensor reading could mean.
4. Test in new situations
People test different lighting, backgrounds, voices, and noises because a pattern that worked before may fail somewhere new.
Same sound, harder setting
The second recording is harder because background noise changes the numbers the AI receives.
